Escaflowne is a series about a girl who finds herself transported
to Gaia, a hidden moon. It's an odd land of a more medieval culture
and technology except for few exceptions. They have airships and
fight with robot machines they pilot called Guymelefs. It's got a
really great plot, so I'll try to make sure my spoilers are well labelled!
It was my favorite anime until I watched Fushigi
Yuugi. The problem with escaflowne is that, although the male
characters are very well thought out, there's really not much to the female
characters!! The bad guys are great though! The noses on the
characters are a little odd.
